While an Organisation is your administrative hub, a Service is where the actual work happens. Currently, Varnish CDN offers a CDN Service designed to sit between your users and your infrastructure.
Each service you create acts as a dedicated delivery engine for a specific domain. By routing your traffic through a Varnish CDN service, you gain several mission-critical advantages:
- High Availability: Keep your website online even if your backend goes down by serving "stale" content from the cache.

How services work
Each service is tied to a specific domain. Once created, you will receive a unique CNAME to point your DNS toward. From that moment, Varnish CDN begins managing the requests for that domain based on your specific configuration. Read more in the next chapter about routing traffic.
Plans and Add-ons
Services are modular. Depending on your needs, you can choose between our Developer, Growth, Business, or Custom plans for each individual service. You can also customize your service with specific add-ons such as advanced security but many features are usage-based so you only pay for the capabilities you actually use.
Configuration
A service is highly customizable. From defining how long content stays in the cache (TTL) to setting up complex rules, everything is handled at the service level.
